I am not a snitch. I have learned to mind my own business and it has worked well for me. I work in a big place, I don’t want to give any further details to expose me, but I am one of the people my boss trusts and I know he has been cheating on his wife. The man has money. He changes the shoddies like handkerchiefs. You can see one lady this week and see a different one next week. When you ask about the first one, he will laugh and say it’s over. I am the one who is on that terms with him because I am his PA. The other workers may suspect him of being a womaniser but they can’t tell him to his face or joke about it. It’s been like this for years.
Boss’ wife was coming to the workplace once a while and I have known her from afar so there has been nothing new about it. But some time ago she visited when her husband was in a meeting and while she was waiting for him, we started chatting. We spoke about normal things, like how work is and all that. Her husband came out of the meeting later and she went with him to his office. After that day, she has been coming around more and I have observed that she is a very reserved woman. She carries herself as a lady so well and she is so humble. You should see how she talks to us, even the cleaner is treated with so much respect.
Her husband is still cheating with different girls and right now, I feel like I should do something. I know it’s not my business. But the woman has become like a friend to me. I heard she lost her job and that’s the reason why she has started frequenting her husband’s workplace. She wants to help out there, but for obvious reasons, my boss doesn’t want that because her presence at the workplace all the time will greatly affect his womanizing. I planned on writing an anonymous note for her to give her a hint about what her husband is doing but then if I do, I will be the first person my boss will suspect because he knows the woman is now like my friend and I am the one who knows a lot of things he does with his mistresses.
My conscience is hitting me this time and I don’t know what to do. What I know is that boss’ wife has some days she doesn’t come and on those days, my boss goes out to have fun and do all the things a married man shouldn’t do. I have earned by boss’ loyalty, but now I believe his wife also trusts me and believes I am a truthful and loyal person. I wanted to tell her about her husband’s infidelity and tell her to use a smart way to catch him. But this is a delicate issue and I’m not sure she will be calm enough to even listen to me. I wish I can get opinions from others on what to do in a situation like this.
